Ecco Golf Shoes Sale at TGW.com

I’ve been looking for deals on Ecco shoes and found a range of them on sale at TGW.com – Save Up To 50% On ECCO Manufacturer Closeout Shoes At TGW.com

ecco crossfire

I go through shoes very quickly. I’ve tried all major brands and so far, I find Ecco golf shoes to be the most comfortable and longest lasting.  They are pricier than the most, but I think they are worth every penny.

Footjoy and Nike tend to be comfortable and good performing but don’t last as long. . .Adidas makes excellent golf shoes except they are not comfortable to walk the course.

I had Ecco Crossfire, see picture above, for the last two years and ended up tossing out Nike TW 7 and Footjoy DryJoys.  TGW is selling a pair of Ecco Crossfire for less than $100.  At this price, I don’t know any golf shoes that comes close to this pair in terms of comfort and performance.

Callaway FT-5 or FT-i Driver for $149.99

I found Callaway FT-5 and Callaway FT-i Men’s Driver drivers at Golf Galaxy for $149.99 each.

The FT-5 was the Editor’s Choice and Golf Medal winner from Gold Digest’s 2007 and 2008:

Key Technology: The trademark carbon-composite body is stretched longer to push the CG farther back and improve stability. The lightweight frame is designed to allow 50 grams to be redistributed internally around the rear perimeter, and the titanium cup-face is wider and taller than before.

Panelist Comments: “Very forgiving and even ball flight across the face . . . Not classic, but there’s a symmetry that makes it easy to look at . . . Sound is better, but the way the ball was flying I could get past almost anything.”

Judges’ Verdict: Callaway might have the last laugh for its preoccupation with carbon-composite technology because its latest generation is its best. The lightweight shell allows Callaway designers to put weight exactly where they want it, and the new shape optimizes that potential. But it’s the OptiFit System, which features a fitting cart of interchangeable heads and dozens of shafts, that maximizes the value of its technology.

Ping Mens Tour Wedge for $59.88

The best price I’ve seen for this wedge at TGW.com.

This is a versatile wedge that tour players love. The unique sole grind enables the leading edge of this wedge to close any gaps with the ground whether the face is open or closed. As typical of Ping irons, the distance control is extremely accurate and consistent (the area Cleveland wedges lack). This is the only club that my coach, works with a number of PGA Tour players, ever recommended.

I’ve been looking for the best price on this wedge as I need a gap wedge with versatility and distance control. At this price point, I’m going to order a couple.

Golf Digest selected this wedge on their hot list for 2008 and 2009:

TECH TALK: The 17-4 cast stainless-steel head has a tungsten toe weight and a small cavity that’s designed to increase the moment of inertia (MOI) and improve feel. A polymer insert in the cavity helps optimize swingweight, dampen vibration and push the center of gravity (CG) low and slightly forward to control clubhead rotation during the swing. The contoured sole helps with shots from a variety of lies. Available in a brushed-silver or black-nickel finish.

PLAYER COMMENTS: (M) “It screams forgiveness.” … (M) “The feel is fantastic, with plenty of spin.” … (L) “Terrific out of the sand. It almost felt like I was hitting a good drive.” … (T) “Recessed area behind the hosel makes it really playable from all lies.”

HOT: It has a sophisticated look and is smart. It’s proof that wedges can facilitate new thinking and the use of different materials but not look like a metal detector.

NOT: Some will like the fact that these grooves won’t scuff your ball. Others won’t.

Lowest Price on Taylor Made R7 Irons – $379.99

GolfEtailicon is selling the set (4-PW) at $379.99 with regular or stiff steel shaft. Golf Digest’s 2007 Hot List Gold Medal winner.

  • Key Technology: The inverted-cone technology improves ball speed on mis-hits. A dampening web made from soft aluminum and a bonding compound absorbs vibration on off-center shots.
  • Panelist: “It’s busy at address, but you can get used to the look when it plays like this. . . . Soft feel with loads of forgiveness. I even hit the 3-iron!”
  • Judge’s Verdict: Catering to better players is TaylorMade’s strength. The moderate offset will be attractive to those who want a single-digit handicap but are still posting scores in the 80s.
  • Hot: Deep cavity gets these puppies in the air with ease.
  • Not: RE*AX shaft isn’t our first choice for graphite-shaft option.  Strong lofts in short irons will have you using less club.
